#BEAUTY #AROMAS What color do you associate spring with? And what does it smell like? Answering the first question, perfume houses, without saying a word, dressed up new spring aromas in pink-powder and flesh tones. But on the second point, the answers vary widely. And this is wonderful: we have a choice.

Alaïa Eau de Parfum Nude, Alaïa

Notes: white cedar, cashmeran, orange blossom, tonka bean, musk and leather.

The genius of tight-fitting silhouettes, fashion sculptor and stretch king - couturier Azzedin Alaya managed to release only three fragrances under his brand. All three are inspired by the main colors in his work. The first is black, it was released in 2015, the second is white, released in 2016, and the third is corporal. The great French couturier of Tunisian origin was able to pay attention to trifles. “I never saw anyone else spend so much time creating clothes,” Veronica Webb, a supermodel of the 90s, once said about him. This was all Alaya. He released under his name only what he really liked, and as former editor-in-chief of the French MarieClaire (in the 80s) Yekaterina Larder spoke about him, Alaya did not even made fashion shows when he really had something to show. The same goes for spirits. Having signed a contract with Shiseido House to create fragrances back in 2013, he released the first bottle only 2 years later. But back to the "nude." “Black, and then white, had a strong influence on my first two creations, and in this case I translated the third canonical shade for Mr. Alaya - nude - into the form of a delicate sensation of naked skin, sensual and delicate, but with a light animalistic mood”, - admitted Marie Salaman, the creator of all three compositions Alaïa. The fragrance really came out delicate (in no case do not try to smell it from the cork or on the blotter - it will deceive you). He has his own special relationship with the skin: the scent is so cozy, bodily, with a subtle trail. It turned out exactly what Alaya himself wanted - a perfume that would become a second skin - moderately sensual, moderately spicy (as without this, if you come from Tunisia). This is the smell of a well-groomed woman who does not seek to impose her company on you, but knows her worth.

Nomade, Chloe

Notes: Mirabelle plum, bergamot, lemon and orange, freesia, jasmine, peach, rose, oak moss, amber, patchouli, sandalwood and white musk

Chloe is surprising and pleasing. Nomade is a completely new fragrance, and it is obligatory for acquaintance, especially if you are not indifferent to the East. An oriental fragrance that partly pays tribute to the memory of Gabi Aghien, founder of the fashion house Chloe, who moved to France from Egypt. The name "nomade" is translated from French as "wanderer, nomad." What awaits you in it? Spicy corporeality, almost erotic nude with a frank sandalwood-musky base. I want to bury my nose and disconnect from problems. And by this he is a little confusing, because he has a very masculine beginning. We are accustomed to the fact that Chloe fragrances are light, airy, purely feminine. And here, despite the claimed, it turned out to be a very beautiful unisex. So, do not be surprised if your male half wants to bite it.

L’Eau d’Issey Pure Nectar de Parfum, Issey Miyake

Notes: pear, honey and bergamot, rose, water notes, peony, cashmeran, ambergris, sandalwood, white musk and violet.

The new flanker of one of the most famous Issey Miyake lines - as clean and airy as its predecessors. Fans of L’Eau d’Issey (to which we belong) will be satisfied. Flanker did not lose his aquatic character, although he lost the "chill" of the first "Waters". Despite the declared fruit and honey notes, if there is a bit of sweetness in it, then at the beginning it is also powdery and delicate. Notes of pear and honey are presented only at the beginning and are not eager to prove anything. The aroma reveals fresh flowers - rose and peony. Moreover, the rose here is real, and does not turn into a fruit compote after a while. Despite the facilitated concentration, this Nectar de Parfum will live on the skin for more than 5 hours (at least).

Kenzo World Eau de Toilette, Kenzo

Notes: pear, almond blossom, peony, iris root.

Following the original Kenzo World and Kenzo World Intense, the famous “nose” Francis Kurkjyan created another flanker in the form of toilet water for the Kenzo perfumery house in 2018. Judging by the pyramid, one would expect something freshly-floral-fruity. But it was not there. The aroma is sweet - and this is the first thought that visits with a personal acquaintance with Kenzo World Eau de Toilette. Whoever heard a pear in it from the first chords is a fine fellow. However, she appears later - and not the one that is torn from a branch of a pear tree in the summer garden, but the one baked with sugar crust, which my grandmother took out of the oven in early childhood. And this association makes the fragrance so nostalgic-intimate.

Ma Vie L’Eau, Boss

Notes: cactus flower, magnolia, peony, pink rose, white musk and white cedar.

The third flanker of the successful fragrance Boss Ma Vie Pour Femme, launched in 2014. But if that first one is definitely about cacti and a little about freshness, then the new fragrance will "entice and deceive you." It is very fresh in the first chords, for which it certainly owes the top notes of the cactus, and now, it seems, we already know everything about it. But the cacti somehow quickly disappear, and they are replaced by white flowers and musk with their viscous voluptuous fleur (which, by the way, has quite a few fans). In a word, to thoughtful testing on your own skin is required. Do not hope for a first impression - it will let you down.

La Vie est Belle L'Éclat L'Eau de Toilette, Lancome

Notes: bergamot, mandarin, grapefruit, pink pepper, tea, jasmine, neroli, orange blossom and Turkish rose, iris, patchouli, ambroxan and musk

And again, flanker of the successful fragrance from 2012. More than a dozen variations of La Vie est Belle - and now a new fragrance can be associated with the ancestor only with the “last name”. And if a year ago you enthusiastically accepted La Vie est Belle L'Éclat, then your successor should also be liked by you, as it is made in the same way, but it sounds lighter and, as experts say, “wearable”. La Vie est Belle L'Éclat L'Eau de Toilette has no vanilla and sandalwood, but there are even more white flowers and citruses. The fragrance came out sweet, spring - this is how you feel when you fall into the thickets of flowering jasmine or orange trees in late spring.

Black Opium Eau de Toilette, Yves Saint Laurent

Notes: coffee, lemon, bergamot, pear, orange blossom, sambac jasmine, white cedar, patchouli and musk

You won't have enough fingers on the hands to recount all the flankers of the famous "Opium" . Since 1977, there have been more than 40 of them. So, the YSL perfume house has a rich history of cult fragrance experiments. Black Opium Eau de Toilette, of course, in its pyramid went very far from the original source, and, rather, it can be called a lightweight version of the first Black Opium. Even more, it resembles toilet water sample 2015, despite the difference in the stated notes. This is definitely good news for those who like the flanker. As is customary in the family of “black opiums”, there is a lot of coffee waiting for you (this time with lemon), white flowers and a reliable musk base. The fragrance, despite the claimed concentration, lives on the skin all day.
